 Debra’s career has been dedicated to helping others maximize their full potential for over twenty-five years. She is currently practicing as a relocation and life transitions coach; the focal point of her work is with accompanying spouses who relocate to support their husband’s or partner’s career. In addition to being co-author of A Portable Identity, Debra is a contributing author to Realties of Foreign Service Life, Volume 2.
Debra graduated Summa Cum Laude from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a major in Social Work. She earned her Master's Degree in Social Work with a specialization in mental health counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. Debra is a licensed clinical social worker and has provided counseling and services to expatriates and clients in a variety of multicultural settings. Debra is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, and is an honored member of Empire Who's Who Among Social Workers and Executives and Professionals in Mental Health.
Debra is a certified professional coach and received her coach training from GROW Training Institute in California. She is a member of the International Coach Federation and is an associate member of Families in Global Transition (FIGT).
Debra has relocated over fifteen times, including twice while writing A Portable Identity. She currently resides in Austin, Texas with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys an active lifestyle which includes cycling, running, swimming, weightlifting, outdoor activities, and spending time with her family and friends.
